THE HOKIES
After opening the season with a win against Duke, the Hokies' men again came out victorious last weekend, defeating Penn State and No.10 Ohio State. The Hokies had two one-two finishes on the second day of competition in the 50 Free by Ian Ho and Thomas Hallock, while Jake Lamparella and Sam Tornqvist claimed the top spots in the 100 Back. Despite a delay in the meet due to a fire alarm, Lane Stone took home first in the 1000 free with freshman Brennan Doss close behind him to claim third. Ho was named ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week following an outstanding return to the water.

The women claimed their first victory of the season against Penn State but fell to No.15 Ohio State.  Tech opened with a second place finish in the 200 medley relay consisting of Emily Meilus, Baillie Cameron, Kayla Purcell and Abby Larson. Freshman Abby Larson continued to earn points for the Hokkies as she claimed third in the 50 free. Purcell also kept her success going with a second place finish in the 100 fly. The 400 free relay completed the weekend as Abigail Andrusin, Anna Landon, Larson and Purcell posted a third place finish with a time of 3:27.13.

THE IRISH
Hosting their second home meet of the season, the Irish Swimming and Diving program looks to capitalize on its momentum. Both the men's and the women's team are in the top-20 of the national rankings; the women are currently ranked No.13 while the men have moved from 23 to 18. Notre Dame swept Purdue in the Irish's home opener as the two teams combined for 21 first place finishes. The men had a record six straight first place finished while the women had a four-streak.

THE PANTHERS
Pitt's men team enters the CSCAA rankings as No. 25 for the first time in 14 years after a dominant win over George Washington, but fell to Virginia the last time out. Juniors Samy Helmbacher and Eben Vorster have helped lead the Panthers to early season success. The women also narrowly lost to Virginia last weekend. Junior Valerie Daigneault led the team in their efforts to defeat Virginia and continued her perfect start to the season with victories in the 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM.
