BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech men's tennis team is set to open the 2018 ITA Atlantic Region Championships on Friday, Oct. 19. Tech is hosting the five-day event, Oct. 18-22 at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Virginia.

THE HOKIES
Representing Virginia Tech in the event will be Mitch Harper, Alex Ribeiro, Jason Kros, Carlo Donato, Henrik Korsgaard, Evan Fragistas and Chase Bernstine.
Harper enters as the number-one overall seed in the event while Ribeiro is seeded 5-8 and Kros and Donato are 9-16. All four receive first round byes. Korsgaard, Fragistas and Bernstine will be in action on Friday in the opening round.
In doubles, Korsgaard and Ribeiro are the number one overall seed while Harper and Donato are the two seed. Kros and Fragistas will also pair up in doubles.
THE FIELD
Virginia Tech welcomes student-athletes from Division I schools around the region, including Delaware, Duquesne, Georgetown, George Mason, George Washington, Hampton, Howard, James Madison, Liberty, Longwood, Mount St. Mary's, Navy, Old Dominion, Penn State, Radford, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, Temple, VCU, Villanova, Virginia and William & Mary.
