BLACKSBURG – Following a tough 9-7 loss at second ranked Boston College Saturday, the Virginia Tech lacrosse team moved up one spot to No. 12 in the weekly Inside Lacrosse Poll on Monday. It is the team's highest ranking of the 2018 season.

The Hokies trailed 5-2 at the half, but battled back to tie the game at seven apiece in the second frame through Taylor Caskey's goal with 14:49 to go. Boston College would score the game-winner a few minutes later on Sam Apuzzo's fourth goal of the game, and the Eagles would add an insurance goal with less than a minute to play to secure the regular season ACC Championship.

Meagh Graham had a great game in goal for the Hokies making eight saves, coming up with four groundballs and causing one turnover.

Tech is back on the field on Saturday, April 21 for Senior Day inside Lane Stadium. First draw is set for 1 p.m. with coverage available on ACC Network Extra. Commonwealth Clash points and ACC Tournament seeding will be on the line when the No. 17 Virginia Cavaliers travel to Blacksburg for the regular season finale.

Both teams sit at 4-2 in league play in 2018, meaning the winner will secure the three seed in the ACC Tournament, held in Durham, North Carolina from April 26 to April 29 on the campus of Duke University.

The Hokies have already secured at least a top-four finish, its best ever after setting the program record for league wins at four following their double overtime victory over Syracuse.

The Hoos have a matchup with No. 4 James Madison on Wednesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. That game was originally scheduled to be played on March 21st, but was postponed due to weather.

Tech will honor eight seniors in a pregame ceremony on Saturday; Tristan McGinley, Brittney VanVeldhuisen, Carly Primo, Emma Harden, Kristen Kohles, Meagh Graham, Kelly Glatthorn and Marissa Davey.

With just two more wins, the senior class would tie the class of 2014 with 35 career wins as the most successful in Tech's history.

With a win versus the Cavaliers, Tech would set the program record for wins in a season at 12.
