Tech to host No. 50 Boston College, No. 46 NC State

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team is set to host a pair of ACC matches beginning with No. 50 Boston College on Friday, March 30. Tech will welcome No. 46 NC State to Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center for a Saturday, March 31 contest.

THE HOKIES (11-5, 2-5 ACC)
Virginia Tech split last weekend picking up a 6-1 home win over Pitt on Friday before traveling to top-ranked North Carolina where Tech fell 7-0. Against the Panthers, the Hokies won the doubles point and won five of the six singles matches in straight set as Natalie Novotna, Caroline Daxhelet, Nika Kozar, Katherine Butler and Nina Sorkin all secured wins.

Novotna enters the weekend ranked 66th in the ITA standings with a 12-4 record this spring. Sorking is 1-4 in duals and Kozar is adding a 10-5 tally. Butler and Daxhelet are both 10-6.

THE EAGLES (10-6, 2-5 ACC)
Boston College defeated UConn last weekend 6-1 in the second match of a doubleheader. The Eagles won the doubles point and had singles wins from Asiya Dair, Kylie Wilcox, Natasha Irani, Jackie Urbinati and Maria Ross.

Dair is ranked 83rd in the ITA standings and has a 9-6 record in duals, including a win over UNC's 20th ranked. Urbinati is adding an 11-4 mark while Irani is 10-5.

THE WOLFPACK (9-10, 2-4 ACC)
NC State fell to Georgia Tech 6-1 the last time out. The Wolfpack picked up its point at the four where Taylor Bridges defeated the Yellow Jackets' 115th-ranked Ida Jarlskog. NC State had an upset win on March 16, defeating then-ranked No. 22 Florida State, 4-3 on the road.

Anna Rogers is ranked 65th entering the weekend with a 10-7 record. She is joined in the singles standings by No. 107 Claudia Wiktorin who has posted a 6-10 tally this spring. Bridges is 11-4 and Adriana Reami is adding a 10-6 tally.

UP NEXT: The Hokies take a swing through the Sunshine State, traveling to Florida State on Friday, April 13 and will play at Miami on Sunday, April 15.
