BLACKSBURG – The 16th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies return to the field on Wednesday when they matchup with VCU, with first draw set for 2 p.m. With inclement weather imminent, the game, originally scheduled to be played at Thompson Field, has been moved to the confines of the Indoor Practice Facility.
The last time out, Tech defeated Delaware 17-10 on Sunday afternoon. Emma Harden and Julia Bolte combined for nine goals, and Tristan McGinley set a new career high with 13 draw controls, as the Hokies won their third straight contest.
Mary Claire Byrne again stuffed the stat sheet, recording two points, a ground ball, a draw control and three caused turnovers.

VCU enters the game 2-5 after Sunday's resounding victory over LIU Brooklyn. The Rams scored 24 goals, a program record. Captain Kierann McTavish led the Rams' attack, scoring eight points with four goals and four assists.
On the season, Sky Hyatt has 18 goals and Molly Barcikowski leads VCU in points with 24 (12 goals, 12 assists).
Both the Hokies and the Rams have faced ODU in 2018 with VCU falling 11-9 in their season opener. Tech beat the Monarchs 20-3 on February 17.
The Series – Wednesday's contest will be the first ever matchup between the Hokies and Rams on the lacrosse field.
Next up: Tech travels to Burlington, North Carolina for a matchup with Elon on Saturday, March 24th. The Hokies and Phoenix are scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
