No. 36 Hokies on the road for Notre Dame, No. 49 Louisville

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team hits the road for a pair of ACC matches beginning with Notre Dame on Friday, March 16 at noon. Tech will then travel to No. 49 Louisville for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday, March 18.

THE HOKIES (10-2, 1-2 ACC)
Virginia Tech is coming off a pair of non-conference wins last weekend, defeating No. 39 Old Dominion 4-3 and Tulane, 6-1. The Hokies fell behind after doubles against the Monarchs, but rallied in singles as Natalie Novotna, Nika Kozar, Katherine Butler and Nina Sorkin all picked up wins. Versus the Green Wave, Tech took the doubles point and picked up singles points from Novotna, Caroline Daxhelet, Elena Cerezo-Codina, Kozar and Sorkin.

Novotna, ranked 52nd, has a 9-3 tally this spring while Daxhelet and Butler are adding the same tallies. Freshmen Kozar and Sorkin have hit the ground running with 9-2 records this spring.

THE IRISH (5-3, 1-1 ACC)
Notre Dame defeated Florida Gulf Coast 6-1 the last time out. The Irish gave up the doubles, but came back to win all six singles points off victories from Brooke Broda, Allison Miller, Cameron Corse, Zoe Spence, Rachel Chong and Ally Bojczuk.

Bojczuk is 8-0 this spring while Cameron Corse and Miller are both 9-2. Spence is 8-3 and Ching is adding a 7-3 tally.

THE CARDINALS (12-2, 2-1 ACC)
Louisville fell to No. 3 Georgia Tech, 7-0 in the team's last outing and will face Virginia on Friday before taking on the Hokies Sunday. Tech and Louisville have face a common opponent this season in Marshall with the Hokies defeating the Herd, 6-1 and the Cardinals winning the match 5-0.

Abbie Pahz is 10-3 this spring for the Cardinals while Mariana Humberg is 8-3. Maya Smith is adding a 9-2 tally and Raven Neely is 10-4.

UP NEXT: The Hokies return to Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center for a March 23 match against Pitt at 3 p.m. Tech will be on the road March 25 for a 1 p.m. match at North Carolina.
