Ribeiro into semifinals at ITA Atlantic Regional

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech men’s tennis sophomore Alex Ribeiro continues his run, advancing into the semifinals at the 2017 ITA Atlantic Region Championships.

Ribeiro took Liberty’s Chase Burton to three sets in the quarterfinals. Ribeiro won the opening set 6-3, but Burton came back to take the second by the same margin. Ribeiro rallied in the third to secure the win 6-2.

The Tech player will face Old Dominion’s Aziz Kijametovic in the semifinals on Tuesday.
