BLACKSBURG (hokiesports.com) — Head Coach Frank Beamer and the Virginia Tech football team announced today the Hokie Stone helmets and gray jerseys worn during the 2013 football season will be auctioned off online at hokiesports.com, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Herma’s Readers. Herma’s Readers is a non-profit organization that promotes the power of reading and literacy to youngsters during their formative years, grades K-3.
Both the helmet and jersey auctions will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, and will continue through Wed., Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. Anyone wishing to bid on either item can do so by logging onto hokiesports.com/auction. There will be a minimum bid of $600 on the helmets and a minimum bid of $300 on the jerseys. All orders will have a $25 shipping fee added to the end of the bid. Helmets and jerseys will be ready and available in mid-December for auction winners, just in time for the holidays.
