BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team will face Boston College Thursday at 6 p.m. in the opening round of the 33rd ACC Women’s Basketball Championship. The event is being held at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.
Tech (15-14, 4-10) enters the tournament as the No. 10 seed, while the Eagles are the No. 7 seed. The Hokies concluded the regular season on Sunday with a, 55-46, loss at No. 21/18 Virginia.
Boston College (15-14, 6-8) lost, 76-68, at Miami Sunday afternoon and fell to the No. 7 seed in the event. Tech defeated Boston College, 69-64, on Feb. 21, in Cassell Coliseum.
The winner of the Virginia Tech-Boston College game will face second seed and ninth-ranked Florida State, Friday at 6 p.m. in the quarterfinals. The VT-BC will not be televised, but will available via ACC Select.
Tech and Boston College have met two other times in the ACC Tournament with the Hokies winning, 60-54 in overtime, in 2006 and the Eagles taking a, 57-47, victory in the 2007 tournament.
