BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Virginia Tech women’s basketball coach Beth Dunkenberger announced Wednesday that Andrea Barbour is no longer a member of the Hokies’ women’s basketball team.
“During recent meetings with Andrea Barbour, we have decided that it would be best for Andrea to pursue other opportunities,” Dunkenberger said. “Andrea has had some great moments here at Virginia Tech, and we wish her well in the future.”
Barbour, a 5-10, sophomore from Charlottesville, Va., appeared in 26 games last season averaging 15.0 points and 3.6 rebounds. Barbour was a member of the 2007-08 ACC All-freshman team and scored a career-high 29 points against Liberty.
In making the announcement, Dunkenberger said there would be no further comment on the matter.
