Epperly named Most Outstanding Wrestler of ACC Tourney

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Virginia Tech's Matt Epperly was named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the 2008 ACC Wrestling Championships after rolling through the 165-pound weight class and winning his first conference title.

Epperly defeated the No. 2 seed in the first round, the No. 3 seed in the semifinals and knocked off top-seeded Keegan Mueller of North Carolina with a 7-2 win in sudden victory.

With the title, Epperly earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Wrestling Championships, held March 20-22 in St. Louis.
