Kick off the football weekend with the Marching Virginians

Join the Marching Virginians, the University Jazz Orchestra, and the University Symphonic Wind Ensemble for The Marching Virginians Band-A-Rama Scholarship Benefit Spectacular on Friday, September 21.  The 7:30 p.m. concert in Burruss Auditorium will feature almost five hundred talented student-musicians as they celebrate the sights and sounds of the bands of Virginia Tech.   

Narrated by Tony Distler, the voice of the Marching Virginians, the concert offers a wide-angle look at the music of Virginia Tech, ranging from the spirited charts performed by the Jazz Ensemble, through the contemporary band compositions played by the University Symphonic Wind Ensemble.  The Marching Virginians will conclude the program with a number of high-energy works from their season supporting Hokie football.

Tickets ($10) are available from the Department of Music or at the door on September 21.  All proceeds will support scholarships in the Department of Music.
