Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG, Va.- The ACC named Carles Coll Marti and Brendan Whitfield to the All-ACC team following their performance at the championship meet. The All-ACC team is made up of the top three finishers in each event and the first-place relays.
Coll Marti earned two individual gold medals over the course of the meet. He took gold in the 200 IM, with a 1:40.95. His 1:49.62 NCAA A-cut time in the 200 breaststroke also earned him gold and set the school, meet and conference record. At the close of the meet, he earned ACC Swimmer of the Meet on the men’s side.
Whitfield placed third in the 100 free, earning the bronze medal. He swam a personal best 41.60 in the race.
The pair were also members of the 400 medley relay (3:02.25) squad that took bronze, alongside Youssef Ramadan and Mario Molla Yanes.
Whitfield took home a third bronze medal as part of the 200 free relay (1:15.53) with Ramadan, Molla Yanes and William Hayon.
