Virginia Tech Women's Tennis

OUR PROGRAM

Tech has qualified for seven NCAA Championships and has sent four individual athletes to the Singles Championships.

At Virginia Tech, we compete in the most competitive tennis conference - the ACC.

16 of the 17 programs in the league finished ranked in the ITA College Rankings in 2025. 10 teams went to the NCAA Championships, with four being seeded in the top 16.

This season, Tech climbed to its highest ranking in program history. On Feb. 20, the ITA College Tennis Rankings were released with the Hokies sitting at No. 27.

ALL-AMERICAN STATUS

Özlem Uslu became the first Virginia Tech player to be named an All-American after her extremely successful fall 2024 season.

Uslu's success at Tech started in her freshman season when she posted a 16-7 record, including six ranked wins across the 2023 season. She became the fourth player under head coach Terry Ann Zawacki-Holdren to make it to the NCAA Championships, and the second freshman.

This season, Özlem Uslu made it back to the NCAA Championship after a run in the ITA Atlantic Regional Championship. Uslu swept all six of her matches during the ITA Atlantic Regional, clinching her berth to the NCAA Championships, making her the first Tech player to go twice in their career.

At the 2024 NCAA Championships, Uslu advanced through the first and second rounds, securing her spot in the Round of 16. With this achievement, Uslu cemented herself in the history books as the first player to be named an All-American.
