At Virginia Tech: Rauch coordinates all sports medicine needs for Virginia Tech Track & Field/Cross Country programs. He also supervises and provides mentorship to the Residents on the Sports Medicine Staff that work directly with the Track and Field/Cross Country teams.
Prior to Virginia Tech: Rauch came to Virginia Tech from California State University Northridge where he was Associate Athletic Trainer working directly with the Track & Field/Cross Country programs from 2021-2022. Prior to that, he was a Resident Athletic Trainer at Boston College from 2019-2021 working with the Football team and Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving programs.
In 2018, he was a Seasonal Athletic Training Intern with the Chicago Bears. He was also a Summer Training Camp and Pre-Season Intern for the Bears in 2015.
Rauch earned his master’s degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Utah in 2018, where he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working with the Utes’ Football team from 2016-2018.
Rauch earned his bachelor of science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Florida in 2016. As a student, he gained hands on experience with football, softball, volleyball, and cheer.

Of Note: Rauch has been an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association since 2014. He is a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Virginia, Florida, and Utah. He is a member of the College Athletic Trainers’ Society. He earned his Corrective Exercise Specialist certification (CES) in 2017. In addition, he holds certification in Functional Movement Screening (FMS), is a Graston Technique Specialist (GTS), and Dry Needling for Orthopedic Rehab and Sport Performance (SFDN1).
Personal: A native of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Rauch currently resides in Blacksburg with his dog, Oreo. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, watching sports, attending concerts, going on hikes, and has a cookie loving sweet tooth.
