Virginia Tech football travels up to Huntington, West Virginia to face Marshall on Saturday at noon ET on ESPN2.

Dec. 1, 2018 – Virginia Tech 41, Marshall 20
Virginia Tech defeated Marshall 41-20 in a non-conference matchup at Lane Stadium to earn bowl eligibility for the 26th year in a row. On Marshall's opening play from scrimmage, Tech defensive tackle Ricky Walker forced quarterback Isaiah Green to fumble, which defensive lineman TyJuan Garbutt recovered. Hokies quarterback Ryan Willis threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns, including a 46-yard touchdown pass to receiver Hezekiah Grimsley in the first quarter. Willis dominated the second quarter, throwing touchdown passes of 45 yards to Tre Turner, seven yards to Steven Peoples and 32 yards to Eric Kumah. The Hokies finished with 454 total yards of offense.

Sept. 24, 2011 – Virginia Tech 30, Marshall 10
Making their first away game trip to Marshall since 1940, Tech claimed an impressive 30-10 victory over the Herd. Quarterback Logan Thomas started the game off strong for the Hokies with a 5-yard run for the team's first touchdown, followed by a 3-yard run by tailback David Wilson for the second touchdown. Kicker Cody Journell went on to hit a 41-yard field goal to further Tech's lead, with the Hokies finishing with 444 total yards of offense compared to Marshall's 251. The Hokies defense completed the game with five tackles, dominating the Heard's offense.
