A WIN WOULD...

- Be Virginia Tech's fourth home win of the season.
- Secure an above .500 record for the season.
LAST TIME OUT
- Virginia Tech fell to No. 11 Virginia, 15-10, on Thursday night in Charlottesville. The Hokies and Cavaliers matched each other stride-for-stride for most of the first half, but a 6-3 advantage in the third quarter allowed the hosts to pull away.
- Olivia Vergano tied her career high in goals in an ACC game with five against Tech's in-state rival. Her fourth goal of the game allowed the West Babylon, N.Y. native to surpass 100 career points.
- Freshman Jocelyn Torres had another solid showing, specifically in the first half that saw her record six saves.
- In the third quarter, the Hokies accumulated three yellow cards, including one to draw-taker Sarah Gresham, that opened to door for Virginia to build a lead.
POSTSEASON PLAY RETURNS TO THOMPSON FIELD
- Sunday will be Virginia Tech's third ACC Championship game in Blacksburg, but the first time that play has come to Thompson Field without Tech hosting the entire tournament.
- In 2009, the Hokies hosted the tournament that saw Maryland claim the championship. North Carolina won the 2016 crown in a run that started by defeating Tech in the first round.
