Know Before You Go: 2023 Hokie Hi Weekend

Opens in a new window Hokie Hi Weekend

UPDATE -- THURSDAY, APRIL 13

Virginia Tech baseball's game on Friday, April 14, has been moved up to 2:30 p.m. ET.

Planning a trip to Blacksburg to experience this year's Hokie Hi Weekend from April 14-16? From fireworks at Atlantic Union Bank Park to Virginia Tech football's spring game and everything in between, you'll want to be there for every memorable moment.

The fun starts Friday afternoon as Tech men's tennis takes on Georgia Tech at 3 p.m. ET in the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. Admission is free. After that, head over to English Field and catch the opener of a three-game baseball series between the Hokies and the Yellow Jackets. First pitch on Friday is set for 7 p.m., and tickets are available starting at $5. Pick up a pair of aviator sunglasses as part of "Welcome to the Danger Zone" Night, then stick around after the game for a fireworks display.

Start your Saturday on campus as the 3.2-mile Run in Remembrance will begin with a moment of silence at 9 a.m. to honor and remember the vibrant lives of the 32 students and faculty who were tragically taken from us in 2007. The event's 3.2-mile loop around the Blacksburg campus begins on Alumni Mall near Torgersen Bridge, passes by landmarks such the Grove, Lane Stadium, and the Virginia Tech Pylons, and ends at the April 16 Memorial.

Registration is still open for this year's 3.2-mile Run in Remembrance.

At noon, head over to Thompson Field as Tech lacrosse squares off with ACC foe Clemson. Fans are encouraged to wear maroon as the Hokies' seniors play their final regular season game in Blacksburg. Arrive early to catch all of the Senior Day festivities.

Across Beamer Way, the Virginia Tech football team will arrive for Hokie Walk at approximately 12:30 p.m. while Lane Stadium gates will open at 1 p.m. in advance of the spring game. Pregame activities for all ages in Hokie Village will start at 11:30 a.m. featuring live music from the Jared Stout Band along with inflatables, tailgate games and food trucks.

Tech football's spring game, presented by PMSI, will kick off at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Parking will be available in the lots surrounding Lane Stadium, while Lot 3 will be limited to ADA parking only. Beamer Way will close to traffic at 8:15 a.m. and will remain closed until the conclusion of the game. Visit Hokie Hi Weekend Central for FAQ's, parking maps and more.

Admission to the Hokies' spring game on Saturday will be complimentary. In lieu of charging for tickets, the athletics department is encouraging fans to support Virginia Tech's efforts in Name, Image & Likeness. Visit HokieSports.com/JumpStart to learn more about how you can get involved through charitable contributions, monthly subscriptions or connecting directly with student-athletes.

Fans interested in upgrading their experience at the spring game can download the HokieSports mobile app to access the Maroon & Orange Memories platform. There, you can choose from exclusive opportunities like a videoboard message, sideline access and more. The deadline to purchase experiences is 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 13.

Keep an eye out for the Ultimate Fan Giveaway during the Hokies' spring football game. There will be QR codes stationed in Hokie Village and at Gates 1, 3 and 6 in Lane Stadium. Fans are encouraged to scan those QR codes to be entered to win prizes including:

  • $100 HokieSports Shop gift cards
  • On-field experience at a home Tech football game in 2023

All entrants will receive a promo code for a discount to the HokieSports Shop. The more QR codes you scan, the greater chance you have to win. The winner will be randomly selected from fans who check in. Please note, only one check-in per person, per location is permitted.

Saturday night concludes with Hokie baseball's second game against Georgia Tech at 7 p.m., with tickets starting at just $5.

Men's tennis is back in action on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. against Clemson on Senior Day, while baseball's homestand wraps up with a 1 p.m. first pitch. Fans can snag a limited-edition trading card featuring the Hokies' junior class upon entering English Field, while kids are invited to run the bases after the game and collect autographs on the concourse.

Tickets for Sunday's baseball game can be purchased for as little as $5.
