BLACKSBURG – Geared up for an action-packed weekend against its rival, the Virginia Tech baseball team (15-9, 2-7 ACC) will host No. 5 Virginia (23-2, 7-2 ACC) this weekend for a three-game conference series at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park during the Commonwealth Clash presented by Smithfield (March 31–April 2).
 
Friday's series opener between the Hokies and the Cavaliers will air live on ACC Network with coverage beginning at 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday's games will air live on ACC Network Extra with coverage starting at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. Fans may also listen to all three games as called on the Virginia Tech Sports Network.

TICKETED ADMISSION
Tickets are required for admission to Virginia Tech's five ACC home series this season, including this weekend's series against Virginia. Fans may click here to purchase tickets at all pricing options.
 
Individual tickets are priced at $10 while youth ages 6 to 18 are set at $5 (children ages 5 and under are free). Virginia Tech students receiving tickets through the student lottery portal may also access home games for free.
 
All ticket sales, including walk-up sales on gameday, are cashless and will require a debit or credit card for purchase. Fans are strongly encouraged to download their tickets before arriving at the ballpark to guarantee the quickest entry experience possible.

 SERIES HISTORY

  • Virginia Tech is seeking its second straight series victory against Virginia, having defeated the 'Hoos in Charlottesville last season, two games to one. With baseball's triumph, Tech clinched the Commonwealth Clash for the athletic department for the first time since 2018.
  • Since joining the ACC in 2005, the Hokies have won multi-game series against the Cavaliers during 2009 (Blacksburg), 2013 (Blacksburg), 2015 (Blacksburg) and 2022 (Charlottesville).
  • Tech's 2022 series win at Davenport Field marked its first in true road fashion against Virginia since 1943 (two-game set). To clinch game three, the Hokies came back from 4-0 down after three innings, accomplishing their largest come-from-behind win against the 'Hoos since 2012.
  • Virginia Tech played errorless during its 2022 series win against Virginia, marking its first such instance since April 2021 at Wake Forest.
  • The Hokies trail the all-time series against the Cavaliers, 107-90.
