BLACKSBURG – During the second week of spring ball for Virginia Tech football, director of broadcasting Zach Mackey interviewed safety Nasir Peoples after practice Thursday to discuss how things are going so far.

Peoples, a sixth-year senior, returns for his final season in Blacksburg and looks to lead a secondary that has some solid pieces to build off of from a year ago.

On having the pads back on and how it feels to be back practicing:
"It feels good to be back out here, you know. I think we need to execute a little bit better, but it feels good to be back to what we like to do, which is playing aggressive in practice."

On it being his fifth spring ball and what he's trying to learn from it:
"Just trying to get better day by day. Take every day and learn from it. Learn from your mistakes. Then just have fun out there and enjoy it."

On the young guys developing in the secondary:
"As a whole group, we just look more mature. Everybody has a little bit of experience from last year, but it is going to help them and push us forward as we get better as a unit."

Fans can see the Hokies in action this Saturday at 11:45 a.m. ET (enter through Gate 6) in Lane Stadium for an open practice. Admission is free, and it is prohibited for fans to take photos and videos when the Hokies are on the field.
