The 11th-ranked Virginia Tech women's basketball team (21-4, 11-4) returns home to Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum for a matchup with NC State (18-8, 8-7). The game is the second in the series this season, Hokies won a 73-61 contest in Raleigh last week. It was the Hokies' first ever win at NC State. Tech has never swept the Wolfpack.
Last time on the court, VT earned the program's fourth ranked win of the season and third in consecutive games with a 61-45 victory over No. 9 Duke. In that game the Hokies held the Blue Devils to their fewest points all season, including a three-point second quarter.
It is the first time in program history that the Hokies have won three consecutive games against ranked opposition.
Junior point guard Georgia Amoore earned ACC Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. Amoore led the Hokies to two double digit victories over ranked foes this past week with consecutive 25-point performances for the first time in her career. She was also the USBWA's National Co-Player of the Week.
Wednesday afternoon the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced that Kenny Brooks had been included on the 2023 Werner Ladder Naismith Women's Coach of the year Late Season Watch List.
