Georgia Amoore earns ACC's Player of the Week honors

BLACKSBURG – Junior point guard Georgia Amoore earned ACC Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. Amoore led the Hokies to two double digit victories over ranked foes this past week with consecutive 25-point performances for the first time in her career.

She scored a career-best 27 points on Big Monday in Raleigh as the Hokies earned the program's first ever victory on the road against the NC State Wolfpack. Sunday afternoon Amoore scored 25 points, including the 1,000th of her career as Tech earned its fourth consecutive victory. She also dished out nine assists against the Seminoles.

The Ballarat, Victoria, Australia native averaged 26.0 points on 51% shooting and 7.5 assists over the course of two games. She knocked down 11 3's as well.

Amoore ranks seventh in the conference in scoring (14.8), third in assists (5.3) and is the league's leader in 3's per game (2.92).
 
The honor is the first of the season and second of her career.
