Elizabeth Kitley earns ACC's Player of the Week honors

BLACKSBURG – Senior center Elizabeth Kitley earned ACC Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. Kitley secured two double-doubles last week, posting 13 and 13 at Pitt and a season-high 28 and 12 vs. Wake Forest.

Kitley set the program record for field goals made in a career against Wake, going 12-for-15 and finishing the game with 704 for her illustrious career.

The Summerfield, North Carolina native averaged 20.5 points on 75% shooting and 12.5 rebounds over the course of two games. 

Kitley ranks fourth in the conference is scoring (18.7), first in rebounds (11.06), second in FG% (56.1), second in blocks (2.0/game), first in double-doubles (12). She also owns nine games of 20 or more points.

She is also one of three athletes in WBB to average 18 points per game and 11 rebounds, ranks seventh in the nation with her 12 double-doubles and is 13th in total rebounds (199) and sixth in defensive rebounds per game (8.2).

The honor is the second of the season and seventh of her career.

The Hokies are 12th in the AP Poll Monday setting up a top 16 matchup at 16th-ranked Duke on Thursday, January 26 at 8 p.m.
