There has been plenty of preseason hype surrounding this year's edition of Virginia Tech women's basketball, and for good reason.
The Hokies are coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances under Head Coach Kenny Brooks who has put together a roster stacked with talent that is ready to make its mark on the national stage.
The program has always had loyal supporters filling the Cassell Coliseum stands on a regular basis, but more of Hokie Nation is starting to catch on to the fact that this season has the makings of a special one.
The interest and excitement have resulted in a record number of season tickets sold heading into Tech's 2023-23 campaign, the most during Brooks' seven years in Blacksburg.

The Hokies boast their best-ever preseason ranking, checking in at No. 13 in the AP poll, while senior Elizabeth Kitley was tabbed a preseason All-America selection and the ACC's Preseason Player of the Year.
Kitley may have gotten most of the headlines during the offseason, but Tech's loaded roster includes several impact players worthy of fans' attention. Back are guards Georgia Amoore, Cayla King and Kayana Traylor, along with forward D'Asia Gregg, forming a strong contingent of veterans.
Brooks also added coveted transfers in guard Ashley Owusu, who earned All-America honors last season at Maryland, and former Boston College forward Taylor Soule, who was named to the Cheryl Miller Award watch list for the nation's best small forward.
Equipped with one of the best rosters in the nation, Virginia Tech will be put to the test with a schedule that includes matchups with several teams that have postseason aspirations. The Hokies will host plenty of ranked foes this season, including Louisville, Notre Dame, NC State, North Carolina and Nebraska, along with a Smithfield Commonwealth Clash game against Virginia.
Season tickets are still available and offer the best value when compared to purchasing individual game tickets. With season tickets, fans can be there to cheer on the Hokies all year long for just a little more than $5 per game.
Virginia Tech's home opener is set for this Monday, Nov. 7, against Mount St. Mary's. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. ET.
