BLACKSBURG – Ryan Fishback and Alberto Orso will start competition at the ITA National Fall Championships on Wednesday in San Diego, Ca.
The Hokie duo reached the final of the ITA Atlantic Regional Championship to earn a selection into this week's event. They are set to compete against Presbyterian College's Maxwell Benson and Dusan Milanovic at 4:15 p.m.
Fishback will also compete in the 32-player singles draw. The Geneva, N.Y. native punched his ticket to nationals behind two top-10 wins including a gritty semi-final performance against Virginia's Chris Rodesch – who was ranked No. 7 in ITA's preseason rankings – to take home a three-set win, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. He will face off against No. 8 JJ Tracy from Ohio State at 9 a.m.
