BLACKSBURG — The Virginia Tech women's golf team is set to take part in the 54-hole Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational. North Carolina will host the two-day tournament at the Governors Club (par 72, 6,203 yards) in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Monday and Tuesday.
Tech participated in the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational last year, finishing third overall with a 5-under 859.
In their last tournament, the Schooner Fall Classic, the Hokies tied for 10th overall. Becca DiNunzio and Morgan Ketchum led Tech by tying for 32nd overall with a 2-over 212.
Tech will travel the same lineup as it did for the Schooner Fall Classic. DiNunzio and Ketchum will be joined by Symone Henriques, Ginnie Lee and Alyssa Montgomery.
The tournament field will feature 14 teams, including fellow ACC members, No. 2 Wake Forest, No. 9 Duke, North Carolina, NC State and Louisville.
Teams will play 54 holes starting on Monday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., followed by the second round later that day. The final round will tee off Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Following the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, the Hokies will travel to Wilmington, N.C. to take part in their fall season finale at the Landfall Tradition on Oct. 28-30.
