GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech's Charlotte Cartledge was named ACC Freshman of the Week on Tuesday afternoon following her performances last weekend against No. 46 Notre Dame and Louisville.
On Friday, March 25, Cartledge picked up a win against Notre Dame's Meghan Coleman on Court 6. Her 7-5, 6-4 result marked her first win while competing in ACC play. In a March 20 match against No. 59 Florida State, Cartledge was awarded a win by default.
The event that captured the most attention over the weekend was Cartledge's match on Court 6 against Tyra Richardson of Louisville. With the score overall score at 3-2 and the Hokies seeking their second ACC win of the season, Cartledge clinched the victory with a 6-0, 4-6, 6-4 win.
