RALEIGH, N.C. – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team fell to No. 6 NC State, 7-0, on Friday afternoon.
The Hokies (5-15, 0-12 ACC) faced a tough challenge early, going up against the No. 5 and No. 9 ranked doubles duo for the Wolfpack (15-4, 9-3), and eventually dropping the doubles point.
Tech was unable to gain much momentum in the singles portion of the match, dropping Court 1, Court 2, and Court 3 to ranked opponents, clinching the match for NC State.
Virginia Tech will wrap up ACC play on Sunday against No. 30 Wake Forest (9-8, 5-4) on Sunday afternoon.
