TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Virginia Tech women's tennis team dropped its road match against No. 6 Florida State on Sunday afternoon, 6-1.
The Hokies (5-14, 0-11) faced the Seminole's (15-3, 10-2) No. 12 and No. 42 ranked doubles duos in to start the match and lost the doubles point.
In singles, senior Nika Kozar picked up a point for Tech after winning the first set against No. 31 Emmanuella Salas before her opponent was forced to retire.
Florida State went on to clinch the match with wins on Court 4, Court 5, and Court 1.
Virginia Tech will return to action in Raleigh, N.C. on Friday at 3 p.m. to face NC State (14-4, 8-3).
