Hokies set for final regular season game Sunday at Cassell

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women's basketball team is back on the court this Sunday, February 28 to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels. Tip from Cassell Coliseum is set for 2 p.m. and can be seen on ACC Network Extra
 
The Hokies own six consecutive ACC victories for the first time in program history after a 70-64 win at Clemson on Thursday night. In that game Elizabeth Kitley (24) and Aisha Sheppard (27) combined for 51 points to guide the Hokies to victory.

•The Hokies and Tar Heels will meet for the third time this season. Originally scheduled for two meetings, the game was added following Duke and later Virginia opting out of the rest of the season.
• In the first meeting in Chapel Hill, the Hokies snapped a four-game losing streak with a 66-54 victory, the program's third consecutive inside Carmichael Arena. Center Elizabeth Kitley led four Hokies in double figures with 18 points and also recorded 14 rebounds for a double-double. Aisha Sheppard and Cayla King each added 15 points in the win.
•The second meeting, at Cassell, was a tighter affair with the Hokies winning by four. Kitley led all scorers with 27 points and Sheppard added 16 for Tech.
• Virginia Tech and North Carolina have met 29 times previously with the Tar Heels owning 19 victories, while the Hokies have won four straight and six of seven with head coach Kenny Brooks at the helm of the program.
