Hokies take the road to face a pair of SEC foes

BLACKSBURG — The Virginia Tech men's tennis team will be back in action this weekend in Tuscaloosa, Ala., facing a pair of SEC opponents — LSU and Alabama beginning Friday afternoon.

THE HOKIES (1-0, 0-0 ACC)

  • The Hokies are rolling into the weekend following a 7-0 victory against George Mason to kickstart the season on Monday. 
  • Henrik Korsgaard, Mitch Harper, Alex Ribeiro, Brandon Perez, Carlo Donato and Matthis Ross saw singles action.
  • Korsgaard/Ribeiro and Harper/Donato registered wins in doubles.
  • Korsgaard/Perez finished the fall ranked 55th in doubles. 


VERSUS THE COMPETITION

  • LSU's Boris Kozlov finished the fall ranked No. 85, Alabama's Riccardo Roberto was No. 96 along with the doubles pairing of Alexey Nesterov and Riccardo Roberto ranked No. 40.
  • Tech will square off against the Tigers for the first time, while the Hokies are 4-2 against the Crimson Tide
