Hokies to play in The Landfall Tradition

BLACKSBURG – Coming off its winning performance in its last event, the Virginia Tech women's golf team looks to continue its strong fall season, as it travels to Wilmington, North Carolina for the Landfall Tradition. The three-day tournament will be played at the Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course, beginning on Friday.

THE LANDFALL TRADITION
The 18-team field will play the par 72, 6,140-yard Pete Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall. The Hokies are one of five ACC teams in the tournament, which has once again attracted one of the top fields in collegiate golf. Led by No. 9 South Carolina and No. 10 Michigan State, 13 of the 18 teams are ranked in the Top 50.
 
Tournament action will consist of 18 holes of play on each of the three days of competition. There will be a practice round on Thursday, Oct. 24.
 
This is the Hokies' first trip to this tournament, hosted by UNC Wilmington. Tech has not played since winning the Princess Anne Invitational on Oct. 6.

Jessica Spicer, senior, Bahama, North Carolina, Emily Mahar, junior, Brisbane, Australia, Keera Foocharoen, sophomore, Bangkok, Thailand, Alyssa Montgomery, freshman, Knoxville, Tennessee and Becca DiNunzio, freshman, Norfolk, Virginia.
