BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech women's basketball coach Kenny Brooks announced Tuesday morning that senior guard Kendyl Brooks will miss the upcoming basketball season as she recovers from hip surgery.
"We are very sad to announce that Kendyl Brooks will miss the 2019-20 season," Brooks said. "She re-injured her hip during the 2018-19 season and it required surgery that was performed last week. Kendyl will continue to be a very important asset to our program and we wish her a speedy recovery."
Brooks, the team's lone four-year player is currently fourth all-time at Virginia Tech in 3-point field goals with 160. She has 47 starts in 103 career games and has been a part of 65 Hokie victories. For her career, Brooks averages 5.0 points per game and has a career shooting percentage of .292.

Tech tips off the 2019-20 season on Tuesday, November 5 on Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum against the St. Francis Red Flash. Tip is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
