BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech women's golf team returns to action this weekend, as it travels to the Tidewater area for the Princess Anne Invitational. The three-day tournament will be played at the Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia, beginning on Friday.

PRINCESS ANNE INVITATIONAL
The 15-team field will play the par 70, 5,816-yard Princess Anne Country Club. The Hokies are the only ACC team in the tournament. The Hokies, ranked 43rd in the current Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, are the second-highest-ranked team in the tournament behind No. 32 UCF, and are joined in the top 50 by ECU. The first Golfstat.com rankings of the season will be released in two weeks.
Tournament action will consist of 18 holes of play on each of the three days of competition. There will be a practice round on Thursday, Oct. 3.
This is the Hokies' first trip to this tournament, hosted by Old Dominion and just in its second year of competition. Tech has not played since tying for third at the Minnesota Invitational on Sept 10.
The five players in the Hokies' starting line-up are:
Jessica Spicer, senior, Bahama, North Carolina, Emily Mahar, junior, Brisbane, Australia, Keera Foocharoen, sophomore, Bangkok, Thailand, Nora Wrenger, redshirt freshman, Munich Germany, and Alyssa Montgomery, freshman, Knoxville, Tennessee.
Becca DiNunzio, freshman, Norfolk, Virginia, is competing in the tournament as an individual.
