The Virginia Tech men's golf team posted a three-round total of 857 and finished in 13th place at the Old Town Club Collegiate on Tuesday. The two-day event was played at the par 70, 6,966-yard Old Town Club in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Tech shot a 283 in the first round on Monday morning and posted a 294 in the afternoon round. On Tuesday, the Hokies shot an even-par 280 to finish at 857. The 280 on Tuesday was the fourth-lowest round of the day.
Daniel Azallion, a freshman from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, led the Hokies with a 2-over 212. He tied for 35th. Azallion posted a 4-under 66 on Tuesday, including a 6-under 29 on the front nine. The 66 is his career low just six rounds into his freshman season, four of which have been sub-70 and five of which have been par-or-better.
Bradley de Beer, a sophomore from Western Cape, South Africa, tied for 46th at 214 and Mark Lawrence Jr., a redshirt senior from Richmond, Virginia, tied for 59th at 217. Tom Crow, a senior from Virginia Beach, Virginia, finished in 69th place at 220 and Slade Pickering, a junior from North West, South Africa, tied finished in 75th place at 224. De Beer posted a 4-under 31 on the front nine on Tuesday.
Drew Brockwell, a sophomore from Chesterfield, Virginia, who played the tournament as an individual, tied for 59th place at 217.
Washington won the team title at 30-under 810, nine strokes ahead of host Wake Forest and 18 strokes ahead of Louisville and West Virginia. Penn State was fifth at 834, ECU was sixth at 835, Cincinnati was seventh at 836, Rutgers was eighth at 840 and Georgia Southern was ninth at 841. Augusta was 10th at 842, Loyola (Md.) was 11th at 848 and Yale was 12th at 851, six strokes ahead of the Hokies.
The Hokies return to action on Oct. 5-6, as they travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to compete in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate. The two-day tournament will be played on the Lonnie Poole Golf Course on the NC State campus. The Wolfpack Invitational was a late addition to the schedule, after the cancellation of the Battle at Briar's Creek.

Drew Brockwell, a sophomore from Chesterfield, Virginia, is the top Hokie on the scoreboard, tied for 54that 144. Playing the tournament as an individual, Brockwell shot a 2-under 68 in the afternoon round.
Mark Lawrence Jr., a redshirt senior from Richmond, Virginia and Bradley de Beer, a sophomore from Western Cape, South Africa, are tied for 60that 145 and Daniel Azallion, a freshman from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, is tied for 65that 146. Tom Crow, a senior from Virginia Beach, Virginia and Slade Pickering, a junior from North West, South Africa, are tied for 69that 147.
Washington leads the 13-team event at 537, five strokes ahead of host Wake Forest, the nation's top-ranked team in the current Golfweek/Sagarin poll. Louisville is third at 545, West Virginia is fourth at 547 and Cincinnati and ECU are tied for fifth at 552.
The final round will be played on Tuesday morning. Tech will tee off beginning at 7:50 a.m. from the 10thtee.
