Hokies return to competition at Duke Bonk Invite

BLACKSBURG - Three members of the Virginia Tech men's tennis team will travel to Cary, N.C. to compete in the Duke Bonk Invitational this weekend. The tournament will begin Friday, Sept. 20, and conclude Sunday, Sept. 22.

Sophomore Brandon Perez and junior Ryan Kros will make their fall debuts, while freshman Michael Shepheard looks to build upon his performance at the Liberty Invitational last weekend.

Shepheard won three singles matches last weekend in his collegiate debut. 

Joining the Hokies in the field are competitors from Duke, Mississippi State, NC State, Liberty, Charlotte, Furman, North Florida, William & Mary, UNC Wilmington, Elon and Gardner-Webb

The tournament will start at 9 a.m. on Friday with two doubles matches and a singles match. On Saturday, teams will compete in one doubles match and two singles matches. Competition will conclude on Sunday with a singles match.
