Hokies begin preparations for the 2019-20 season

The Virginia Tech women's golf team began preparations for the 2019-20 season this week. The team returns three starters from last season's squad that advanced to its second consecutive NCAA Regional appearance.

The team will have qualifying rounds to select the starting line-up for the season-opening Minnesota Invitational, which will be played Sept. 9-10 at the Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury, Minnesota. Tech finished second in the event last season, which is hosted by the University of Minnesota.
 
Leading scorer from last year's team, junior Emily Mahar, is currently in British Columbia as part of a four-woman Australian team in the 2019 Astor Trophy competition, but will return to campus in time for the beginning of the season. Also returning from last season are senior Jessica Spicer and sophomore Keera Foocharoen, each of whom were in the starting line-up in all 11 events last season. Also returning are senior Katie Muscatello, redshirt juniors Kristin Hearp and Sarah Spicer and redshirt freshman Nora Wrenger.
