The Hokies (13-3, 0-3) are searching for their first conference win after narrow losses in the opening week of league play at Miami, 68-61 and against No. 14 Syracuse, taking the Orange to overtime before falling 75-73. Last week, Tech fell by four points to rival Virginia despite 26 points from All-ACC performer Taylor Emery.

Emery has started brightly, and is second in the league in scoring after dropping 20 at Miami, 27 on Syracuse and 26 at Virginia. The senior paces the Hokies at 18.9 points per game and has been shooting the ball at a .453 clip.

The senior from Tampa, Florida who set the school's record for field goals made and points in a single season in 20178-18 is quickly approaching 1,000 career points in Blacksburg. She is poised to become the 27thmember of the 1,000-point club, standing just 30 points away.

Forward Regan Magarity continues to have a fantastic season, leading the conference in rebounding and tallying 12 double-doubles on the season. She is the program's all-time leader with 44.

Notre Dame (16-1, 4-0) is coming off of a victory at home against Wake Forest 78-48 that saw three players score in double figures. Earlier last week, the Irish defeated then No. 2 Louisville led by 30 points from senior Arike Ogunbowale.

The Irish have gone unbeaten since their lone loss of the season on Dec. 2 to Connecticut.

The game will pit Tech's Dara Mabrey, a freshman against her sister, senior guard Marina of Notre Dame.
