Elizabeth Bose and Jessica Spicer have been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association's (WGCA) 2018 All-American Scholar team. This is the second consecutive season the duo has been honored.
Bose, a junior from Norfolk, Virginia, is a clinical neuroscience and biochemistry double major at Virginia Tech. She has been named to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District 3 Women's At-Large Team and the 2018 All-ACC Academic Women's Golf Team.
On the course, Bose led the Hokies in stroke average, at 73.21. Bose became the first player in Virginia Tech women's golf history to win an individual title, when she won medalist honors at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Florida in March.
Spicer, a sophomore from Bahama, North Carolina, joins Bose on the team for the second consecutive season. She was fourth on the team in scoring average at 75.55. Spicer played in every event this season and had two top 20 finishes. Her best finish was 16th place at the Lady Paladin Invitational in the fall. In May, Bose and Spicer helped lead the Hokies to their first-ever NCAA regional appearance.
To qualify for the honor, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50. Bose and Spicer are two of 1,011 student-athletes honored across all levels of collegiate women's golf.
