Chalkley ties for second at State Junior Amateur

Incoming Virginia Tech golfer Bryce Chalkley shota final round two-over-par 73 and tied second place with a three-round total of207 at the 58th Virginia State Golf Association Junior Amateur Championship atthe Roanoke Country Club in Roanoke on Thursday afternoon.

Chalkley posted a seven-under-par 64 onTuesday and a one-under 70 on Wednesday, before shooting 73 in the final round.The rising freshman from Richmond was the first round leader. He tied JackAdkins of Martinsville for second place, five strokes behind Jake Mondy ofBlacksburg, who was tied with Chalkley entering the final round. Mondy shot three-under-par68 on Thursday for a three-round total of 202.
