Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG, Va.- The Virginia Tech men’s soccer program added Patrick Huang and William Reynolds to National Letters of Intent for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Patrick Huang, a 5’8” forward from Huntsville, Ala., joins the Tech program after lettering three seasons at Grissom High School. In 2008, Huang was named team MVP, first team Super All-State and Huntsville Times Super All-Metro Player of the Year. As a member of the Birmingham United Soccer Association club team, Huang was a 2006-07 Region III ODP ’90 Pool and Alabama ’90 state team member.
Weiss on Huang: “Patrick is a talented player who can play as a forward or in midfield for us. He is a very technical player who likes to beat opponents with a dribble. He also has a keen eye for the assist and can score from distance. We look forward to having Patrick on our team.”
William Reynolds is a 6’2” goalkeeper from Martinsville, Va. Reynolds competed at Martinsville High School and was a four-time letter-winner. Playing between the pipes for the Bulldogs, Reynolds led his team to district titles for three of the four years while placing second in their Region and playing in the Virginia State Championship twice. In his junior season, the goalkeeper was named the Piedmont District Player of the Year and is within one shutout of breaking the state record of 39.
Weiss on Reynolds: “Will gives us depth in the goalkeeping department. He is a very gifted athlete with good potential as a Division I goalkeeper. We are happy Will is going to be a Hokie.”
