The Virginia Tech baseball program and its "Build It In Blacksburg" (#BIIB) slogan are based on four pillars: Blue collar, Integrity, Investment and Brotherhood. The program also is committed to using the latest technology available to enhance player skills, including software from Trackman, Rapsodo, Blast, and WinReality.
As a team, the Hokies achieved a 3.15 GPA during the spring 2023 semester, extending their streak to eight consecutive terms of achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher.
The Virginia Tech baseball program is committed to the personal development of its student-athletes through community outreach and service. Part of that process includes being active among the fan base, like when the Hokies sign autographs for young fans after home games at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park, or at Hokie Village before home football games.
The Virginia Tech baseball team participates in an event called Hokie Village, where they have the opportunity to meet and interact with fans. Families and kids are able to get autographs and pictures with the players as they are preparing for their upcoming season.
Right before the season kicks off, the Virginia Tech baseball team hosts a Kid's Clinic where kids from the New River Valley can come and participate in stations and games with the athletes. Players and coaches teach the kids basic baseball technique while still enjoying their time with the children.
Within the Blacksburg community, the Hokies often make appearances at local elementary schools, where they have helped read to students and teach the importance of education.
