A Talk With...
How will this season be different than any other one?
Well, the main thing is that it's my last go around. I'm not going to say I didn't put a lot of effort into it last year, but I know there's going to be more to it this year. And I will be trying to make more things happen for both the team and myself.

What are you going to remember most about Virginia Tech football?
The main thing would definitely be the guys on this team. We're around each other 24/7 and have spent so much time together.

Is there a coach in particular that you have gotten to know well over the past couple of years?
I got to know Coach [Tony] Ball a lot, especially since he was my recruiting coach. He recruited me out of Baltimore and he was just a stand-out guy. I'll miss just stopping by his office to talk about anything. He was a father-like figure for me.

What do you want to see this team do in the 2005 season?
The first goal is to win the ACC Championship and do it all over again. And then we want to take it to the next level and win the National Championship.

Where can we find you next year?
Hopefully, getting ready for the combine and getting ready to go to a great team.

How about in 10 or 15 years?
I see myself with a family and kids. Hopefully...maybe? If not, making money with football then with property management.

Do you have a favorite memory?
My first play at offensive line which was against Rutgers two years ago and my first game as a Hokie which was for the Arkansas State game my freshman year.

How do you get prepared for games?
I just like to get into my zone. It's just me. I don't see anyone else around me. It's been like that since high school and it will never change.

How do you want Jason Murphy to be remembered at Virginia Tech?
Overall, just a great person. A person who always strived to be a leader and someone who could better his team.

Who do you consider your hero?
Definitely my mom because she's been through so much. But she raised me and my brothers and sisters so well and worked hard to make life better for us.
