CHARLOTTE – After hitting four home runs in three games against No. 7/9 Florida State, Cori McMillan has been named the ACC Player of the Week.

This is McMillan’s first conference Player of the Week honor in her career.

McMillan was unstoppable at the plate against the Seminoles. She went a perfect 4-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs. She was also instrumental in the Hokies’ 8-6 series finale win on Sunday as she went 2-for-3 with two home runs and two RBIs.

Collectively, McMillan hit .667 over three games with four home runs, five RBIs and a 2.000 slugging percentage. She also had a .727 on base percentage and finished the weekend going 6-for-9.

The Greensboro, N.C., native is having a one-of-a-kind season as she currently leads the country with 29 home runs. Against the Seminoles, she hit her 50th career home run as a Hokie and is now tied for second on Virginia Tech’s all-time home run records list.

It marks the first time in her career that McMillan has been named the ACC Player of the Week. She joins Michelle Chatfield and Emma Lemley as the third Hokie to be honored with an ACC weekly award this season.
