BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team is set to tip off this year’s Smithfield Commonwealth Clash with a rivalry matchup against Virginia. Riding the momentum of a three-game winning streak, the Hokies have proven their mettle in ACC play, highlighted by an impressive road victory over then-No. 13 Georgia Tech and following that up with a 61-54 win against Wake Forest at home. With an 8-1 record at home this season, Virginia Tech is primed to defend Cassell Coliseum with the help of Hokie Nation.
