It’s a night many Hokies have dreamed of. A band that is within the very fabric of Virginia Tech and Lane Stadium coming to play in Blacksburg.
On May 7, it finally happened.
Metallica came to good ol’ Southwest Virginia for the show of a lifetime. Its M72 World Tour, featuring Suicidal Tendencies and Pantera, began setting up a week out and delivered Wednesday night.
A packed Lane Stadium went home with smiles. But not before the band finished with the song the Hokies’ football team enters to in Lane – Enter Sandman.
For all 65K+ in attendance, it was surreal to jump up and down and not see the football team running out to the field, but the band live – LIVE! – playing it instead this time.
A moment no one will forget.
