BLACKSBURG – No. 13/15 Virginia Tech fell to No. 7/9 Florida State, 8-0, on Saturday afternoon at Tech Softball Park.

How It Happened: Florida State 8, Virginia Tech 0 (6 inn.)
The Seminoles scored in each of the first three innings to take an early 4-0 lead.

Despite the lead, Hokies’ middle infielders Rachel Castine and Annika Rohs delivered throws home in the third and fourth innings to prevent two more runs from scoring.

Tech continued to make defensive plays but it was not enough for the Seminole offense. With a 4-0 lead heading into the top of the sixth, Florida State saw four more runs cross the plate. The Hokies were held scoreless in the bottom of the sixth as Florida State earned the 8-0 win.
