Hokie ClubSamantha Bishop, a 2021 graduate, is currently working as a Head Start Teacher. She earned her degree in Human Development with minors in Psychology and Disability Studies. Initially uncertain about her academic path, Samantha began as a Biology major but discovered her passion after taking a Human Development course that inspired her to change direction. Samantha is committed to supporting underserved communities and advocating for individuals with disabilities. She also loves all things Hokie sports!
Q: Why do you think it is important to give back to Virginia Tech Athletics?
SB: It is important to give back to VT athletics because our support means everything to the athletes. It is important for our athletes to not only be supported in their sport, but also academically. Our sports teams would not be where they are now without Hokie Nation's support! Let's continue to build the Virginia Tech Athletic department!
Q: Why did you decide to attend Virginia Tech?
SB: I've been a Hokie my whole life. Both of my parents, my step dad, and my grandpa went to Virginia Tech, so I was a legacy! Go Hokies!
Q: How has Virginia Tech Athletics impacted you?
SB: Virginia Tech Athletics has always been a big part of my life, even prior to being a VT student. I attended as many sporting events as I could during my time at Virginia Tech. The games helped me create so many amazing memories, introduced me to other students and VT fans, started new friendships, and made my time at Virginia Tech the most amazing experience.
Q: What is your favorite Virginia Tech sports memory?
SB: My favorite Virginia Tech sports memory is the football team beating UNC in six overtimes!
Q: Why would you encourage other Virginia Tech Recent Graduates to give?
SB: I would encourage other recent graduates to give to Virginia Tech so that incoming students can have the same great experiences that we had!
