Four Hokies named to All-ACC Academic Team

Hammond, Lawal, Rechsteiner, Wessler recognized for academic performance

BLACKSBURG — Four members of the Virginia Tech men's basketball team were selected to the All-ACC Academic Team as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Ben Hammond, Tobi Lawal, Brandon Rechsteiner and Patrick Wessler were all first-time honorees.
 
Hammond and Rechsteiner are both sports media and analytics majors, while Lawal is pursuing a bachelor's degree in sociology and Wessler is in marketing management.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career. In addition, eligible nominees must have participated in 50% of his team's scheduled games.
