BERKELEY, Calif. – No. 14/14 Virginia Tech dropped the final game of its series at Cal, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at Levine-Fricke Field.
How It Happened: Cal 4, Virginia Tech 0
It was a pitcher’s battle through the first four scoreless innings. Cal threatened in the bottom of the second with the bases loaded, but a groundout to shortstop got the Hokies out of the jam.
After four scoreless innings from Emma Mazzarone, Emma Lemley entered the game in the bottom of the fifth and immediately started the game with a strikeout. With runners on first and second for the Golden Bears, Cal hit their first home run of the series and took a 3-0 lead.
